News and Notes: Wings host Loggers, Needham a game time decision and Hamad moved off PP1
The Wings look to get back in the win column tonight as they face off against their long time rivals, the Moosehead Loggers.
At practice this morning, Mark Hamad was moved off the top powerplay unit replaced by Ross Machon.
“We wanted to get a stronger net front presence on the first unit, so we moved Machon up there,” said coach Matt Deline. “We want Hammer to use his big shot more, and I think he has more of an opportunity to do that on the second unit.”
In other news, Roger Needham will once again be a game time decision as his 50 year old body is starting to show signs of breaking down. With rumours already swirling that he may be headed overseas to play in Europe, this isn’t welcome news to the team or their fans.
“It’s his shoulder, that’s all I know,” said GM Godbout. “As soon as he gets clearance from the medical staff he will be back in the lineup. You guys will know as soon as I do.”
Dustin Harris will be back in the lineup tonight after avoiding supplementary discipline for his charging major last game.
Puck drop is at 8:30pm EST.
