Hartmann sets CAHL record as Wings continue to roll

The Carleton Tavern Wings came out flying against long time rivals the Mooseheads last night, scoring two goals in their first two shifts and going on to a convincing 7-2 win.

The night belonged to star center Mike Hartmann as he was flying around all night and set a CAHL record by scoring 7 goals in one game. All of the goals were unassisted.

However, there was speculation floating around before the game that Hartmann was possibly going to be scratched as he was suffering from a protein and carbs related injury. Much to the fans delight, he managed to play through the pain and there was an audible gasp from the crowd when he skated out for warmups.

“Hartmann is always putting the team before himself and tonight was no exception,” said captain Matt Deline. “Not all heroes wear capes.”

Hartmann is now up to 8 goals in just two games. The long term contract he signed three years ago is now looking like a genius move from GM Godbout.

Some other players on the Wings also played OK last night.
