Wings win again, remain undefeated; league cracks down on mystery player
The Carleton Tavern Wings continued their winning ways last week, with a 3-1 victory over rival Screech Owls. Late scratches of Hartmann and Sharron didn’t stop the Wings from putting in a strong effort for a full 46 minutes.
Backup goalie “Bear” stood on his head, turning aside 35 of 36 shots to secure the victory.
“It felt great to get back in the Wings net and get my legs under me,” said Bear. “The guys played great in front of me and just glad I could help the boys get the win.”
The Wings are cruising through the early part of the season, posting an 8-0-2 record through their first 10 games.
In league news, commissioner Joshua Shaw send out a memo to all GMs that the mystery wigged figure who lurks around the Ice House is not allowed to play anymore. Little is known about the mysterious long-haired sniper, but he has been known to try and sign one-game contracts in an attempt to loop hole his way into playing.
“We can’t have random guys just showing up and playing for whatever team,” explained Shaw. “If he wants to play in this league, he needs to sign a permanent contract.”
The Wings next game in this Friday at 8:30pm vs. Les Gaulois. Plenty of tickets still remaining.
