Wings moving up after dominating division 14
Ottawa – The Carleton Tavern Wings have been moved up from division 14 after putting up a team record 25 goals in just 4 games, while Casey is sporting a GAA under 2.00.
“It makes sense for us to move up at this point,” said GM Mike Godbout. “We have learned all we can from division 14 and the guys need some better competition if we’re ever going to improve.”
There are some familiar faces in the new division, with former rivals the Screech Owls and Feed Bag Skate among some of the new teams the Wings will face.
“It’s good that we know some of the teams and know how to play them,” said captain Matt Deline. “We won’t have to adjust our game plan too much going forward which is great.”
The Wings will play their final game in division 14 next Monday before making the move up the following week.
“Honestly, I don’t care who we play. I know we have a chance to win,” said star winger Jamie McLennan, who is among the league leaders in points. “If we play our game of running around in our own end, relying on Alec to make saves, and then scoring on our odd man rushes, we can beat anybody.”
The Wings play their first game in division 13 on October 28th and plenty of tickets are still available.
