The Carleton Tavern Wings lost 6-3 to the hated Bulldogs last night in front of a sparse crowd at the Ice House. The Wings opened the scoring when Mark Hamad buried one in tight off a beautiful passing play from Harris and McLennan.

“He’s super easy to play with, he just sees the ice so well,” said Hamad when asked about playing with McLennan. “He’s also a big body and creates lots of space out there.”

The Wings also got goals from Harris and Hartmann, but ultimately fell short.

The man simply known as “Nails” filled in admirably for the missing Alec Casey, turning aside 28 of the 34 shots he faced.

“Nails played great, it would have a lot worse if it wasn’t for him,” said stalwart defenseman Rick Shean.

Alec Casey hasn’t been seen in nearly ten days, and fans are starting to get restless. Rumours are swirling that he may have entered the CAHL players assistance program, while others maintain he is on a mission to end global warming in the middle east. Either way, the Wings and their fans are eagerly anticipating his return.

The Wings next take on the high powered Peashooters Wednesday at 7:30pm live on TSN6.
