Wings drop pre-season opener, Brad Something released from PTO
The Carleton Tavern Wings championship defense began this past Saturday, but unfortunately things did not go according to plan as they fell 6-5 to the Jive Turkeys.
The game was highlighted by a first period hat-trick from sniper Mark Hamad, who tallied three goals on his first three shots of the game.
“I had a great off-season,” explained Hamad. “I took some time off from training and spent some quality time with someone I really needed to reconnect with: myself.”
The rust from a party filled celebratory summer was evident for the Wings, who at times looked tired.
“We know we weren’t at our best tonight, but its only the first game of the preseason. No need to panic,” said stalwart captain Matt Deline.
The night was not without casualties though, as forward Brad Something was released from his professional tryout after the game.
The Wings next preseason game is Friday, September 13th at 11pm.
