The Carleton Tavern Wings got back in the win column last night with an impressive 4-0 win over the Moosehead Loggers.

The Wings got goals from Liotti, Godbout, O’Grady and Hamad and all-star goalie Alec Casey shut the door on the Loggers who left the game frustrated.

“I feel like we played well and had some chances,” said Loggers captain Matthew Quick. “They capitalized on their chances and we didn’t, that was the difference.”

The night belonged to rookie Patrick Liotti who was back in the lineup after suffering from what he called “salmon arm” two weeks ago. He scored his first CAHL goal which turned out to be the game winner.

“It’s a great feeling and its nice to get the monkey off my back,” said Liotti, who is known more as a first pass guy than a goal scorer.

“He reminds me a lot of a young Quinn Hughes actually,” said his defence partner Chris Vanderkeegananen. “It’s fun to watch.”

Once again, the Wings got scoring from both lines and played solid defense in front of Casey, who turned aside all 29 shots he faced.

The Wings next take on the first place Bears in a matinee game on November 19th.
