Screech Owls
Currently sitting in second place in the conference, the Screech Owls are coming in hot, winning their last 3 games. The Owls have only one regulation loss this season, coming at the hands of long-time rivals Feed Bag Skate back on October 18th. The Owls currently have the second best goals against per game and will need the defense to continue to play well going forward. Daniel Mak and Russel MacDonald are off to hot starts this season, putting up 11 and 9 points respectively in their first 7 games.
Reapers
Tied for third in the conference, but only have 2 regulation wins. Goal scoring has been an issue, with no players in the top 20 in league scoring. The veterans are going to have to pick it up or some players could find their way onto the trading block.
Les Patriotes
A mediocre start to the season for the Gatineau based Patriotes, with 4 losses in their first 7 games. They still sit third in the conference and should be a lock to make the playoffs. Keeping the puck out of their net has been an issue so far this season, averaging over 4 goals against a night. Chris Gervais is the lone scorer in the top 10 with 9 points in 7 games.
Bulldogs
Poor defense and goaltending is once again plaguing the dogs. Averaging almost 5 goals against a night is not going to get it done in division 13. Mariani and Huculak are carrying the load offensively, accounting for almost 40% of the teams goals. Secondary scoring and better goaltending are key if the Bulldogs are going to make any noise this year.
The Diggers
Perhaps the most disappointing team so far this season. There were high hopes from the fanbase for a turn around year. The talent is there, but so far the Diggers have managed only 1 regulation win to start the season. They are two points out of last place and need more contribution from players other than Oates and Phillips if the Diggers are going to turn this around. Some light at the end of the tunnel however as they managed to pull off a tie with the top seeded Wings last week.
The O’Gradys
Need to stay the course. They are among the league leaders in goal differential 5 on 5, but unfortunately the wins just aren’t coming. With stalwarts like Rolando Parker leading the league in scoring (13 points in 6 games) all the tools are there, they just need to put it all together on a nightly basis.
Les Gaulois
Mon dieu. What a mess to start the season for the Orleans based Gaulois. Still winless on the season and averaging a league low 2 goals per game, things need to change fast or we could be seeing major changes coming to both the front office and on the ice. Coming down a division should help however, as the team was simply overmatched in the highly competitive 12th division.
Carleton Tavern Wings
The cream of the crop to start the season, the Wings are currently undefeated in 7 games to start the year going 6-0-1 to sit comfortably in first place. With four players in the top 10 in league scoring, offense isn’t an issue. Newly signed goaltender John “Alec” Casey has been a brick wall for the Wings as well. The Wings have also battled through some injuries and COVID early this year, but they show no signs of slowing down. However, a little more commitment from a few players who missed games for personal reasons would go a long way.
