The Wings ended their short two game losing streak with a decisive 6-2 victory over the hated Bulldogs last night. The win improves the Wings record to 3 wins and 2 losses and they now sit in second place in the division.

It was a heated game with over 30 minutes in penalties handed out and plenty of off-setting roughing calls in what was a steady parade to the penalty box for both teams.

“I’m proud of the way the guys stood up for each other out there,” said captain Matt Deline, who ended the night with 2 assists, a plus 4 rating and 3 minutes in penalties. “They have some big boys over on that team, but we didn’t back down. At the end of the day, we went home with the two points which is the important thing.”

Another stellar performance from all-star goalie Alec Casey, surrendering only 2 goals on 33 shots. The Wings opened the scoring on a beautiful passing play which ended with Mitch Ethier sniping his first of the season from his office beside the net. Ethier was asked to comment but simply shouted a high pitched squeal to our reporter.

The Wings also got goals from O’Grady and Harris to take a 3-2 lead with 10 minutes left and then an outburst of goals from the second line with Hartmann scoring a natural hattrick in the final ten minutes to seal the victory.

“It was nice to score again,” said Hartmann. “I haven’t had one go in since that 7 goal game, so it feels good to be contributing.”

The Wings next game is….unknown.

***Breaking Update***

Wings goaltender Alec Casey was called up to division 11 at the last minute last night to tend the crease for the Prancing Ponies. Reports indicate Casey played well stopping 29 of 32 shots in a hard fought 3-3 tie. Rumours are circulating that Casey was offered a contract after the game. Casey was reportedly considering the contract until the team served Molson Canadian beers in the locker room.
