Are the Wings too good for Division 13?

After yet another lopsided victory last night, rumours are swirling the team may be moving up the ranks of the CAHL.

The Wings once again defeated the Mooseheads last night, this time by a score of 8-2. With all 6 forwards contributing points, the offence was well spread out. A solid game from a shorthanded defensive unit was also impressive as Deline, Godbout and Vankeekan all logged big minutes.

“It was a total team effort tonight, from Alec in nets to the defence playing great in front of him and the forwards showing their potent offensive skills,” said a glowing GM Godbout. “We’re hoping to take home the Div 13 title this year, but if we have to, we’ll just take home the Div 12 crown instead.”

The Wings got goals from Needham, Martmann, Hamad and Sharron and Casey turned aside 19 of the 21 shots he faced. Casey has yet to allow more than 2 goals in a game this year and looks to be on pace to repeat as the Vezina Trophy winner.

The wings have scored 16 goals in just 3 games, while only giving up 5.

The league is set to meet next week to decide the Wings fate. The option to move the team all the way up to division 1 is rumoured to also be on the table.
