The fans at the Ice House paid for the whole seat but only used the edge on Friday night, as the Carleton Tavern Wings staged a late game comeback against Le Gaulois to secure a 4-3 win.

The win moves the Wings to 9-0-2 as they remain undefeated on the season.

Emergency call-up goaltender “Bear” made some huge saves to keep the team in it and some last minute heroics by the 3M line brought home the victory.

After a beautiful first period goal by GM Godbout, the Wings were down 3-2 with 6 minutes left. Captain Matt Deline then fed Spike Hartmann who dashed down the wing and snapped a shot through the five hole of Gaulois goaltender Mathieu Seguin to tie the game.

With only 6 seconds left, Mark Molnar carried the puck deep into the zone and fired one of his patented wristers which Seguin was unable to handle. The puck popped out right onto Hartmann’s stick who fired it into the net for the win.

“I knew I wasn’t going to beat him from that angle, so I was just hoping for a rebound and it worked out,” explained Molnar. “McLennan created some chaos in front of the net and Hartmann was there to grab the loose puck. It felt great to get the win.”

The 3M line continues to roll for the Wings, having combined for over 40 points through the first 11 games*.

The Wings have a long break until their next game on December 22nd when they take on Les Patriots.
